Raised in Iowa City, Iowa, Mimi's early years were spent developing a passion for dance and music and a loathing for bitter winters.
Mimi has been honing her body of artistic work from a young age and has performed in concerts, festivals, music videos and venues of all sizes. She landed (or flew) into the circus tent through a serendipitous encounter in 2014 and is a graduate of the Pro-Track Program at Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance in Boulder, Colorado. Upon graduating she was invited to perform with Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance Professional Company where she choreographed, performed and taught aerial dance. Currently, her aerial home is in Coralville, Iowa at National Dance Academy.
Before running away with the circus, Mimi's sense of wanderlust kept her fulfilled and she spent her free time backpacking through warmer climates and exploring life abroad. She is interested now in working in the space where performance art, culture and traditions intersect. Her approach as a performer is greatly influenced by twenty years of dance training and her background as a yoga practitioner and teacher. She is an energetic and soulful mover who lights up any event blending classical lines, story telling and genuine connection with her audience.
