Mimi Ke lives in Iowa City, Iowa. As a small child Mimi visited Splendid China, a now demolished theme park near Disney World. Although its miniature version of the Great Wall failed to impress her, it was there that she saw circus for the first time and envisioned her future in the air. Her parents bought her the soundtrack of the circus show and she spent the next few weeks listening to the CD on repeat while turning her living room into a circus tent. Mimi inevitably fell madly in love with the predetermined path of circus life and went on to graduate from the Professional Training Program at Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance in Boulder, Colorado. Her specialty and true love belong to aerial silks but she has also choreographed and performed works on single point trapeze, rope and harness, invented apparatuses, aerial hoop and aerial rope.
Her approach as a performer is greatly influenced by twenty years of dance training and her background as a yoga practitioner and teacher.
Most recently she was invited to perform with Frequent Flyers Aerial Dance Professional Company.
